Established in 2011 by Simon James and Scott Bridgens, Resident is a globally focussed design company from New Zealand.

Residents mission is to offer products with an unparalleled level of creativity and innovation, coupled with the benefits of fast global delivery.

Our furniture and lighting is for design-conscious people who are passionate about the way they live. The highest level of refinement is pursued in each object, while also holding the unique fingerprint of the designer.

We balance the desire for new ideas and progression with an appreciation for simple forms. The result is objects that can harmonise with a room or act as a deliberate contrast.

As makers of furniture and lighting for both commercial and residential spaces, Resident’s practice spans multiple scales and contexts. Regardless of where our focus is, three founding beliefs guide our work.

As architects of objects, our interpretation of value begins with craftsmanship. We carefully consider detail, push the limits of material, and are inspired by the elemental forms found in nature.
